Terms of Service

1. Purpose

These Terms set out the conditions for using PDFCAT (the "App"), a PDF viewer provided by TERAGAMEZ ("we", "us"), and the rights and obligations of you and us.

2. Effect and changes

  1. These Terms apply to everyone who purchases or uses the App.
  2. We may change these Terms within the limits of applicable law. We will post changes on this page at least 7 days before they take effect (30 days for changes unfavorable to you).
  3. If you do not agree to the changes, you may stop using the App. Continuing to use the App after the notice period means you accept the changes.

3. The service

  1. The App lets you view PDF files on your device, with features such as in-document search, page thumbnails, resume reading, opening password-protected PDFs and AI summaries.
  2. The App requires no account or sign-in and works without an internet connection. Documents and data handled by the App are stored only on your device.
  3. AI summaries are available only on supported devices. They require a device and operating system with built-in AI (iOS: Apple Intelligence / Android: Gemini Nano). Supported devices are listed on the App's web page and store listing. On other devices, every feature except AI summaries is fully available.
  4. Availability and supported languages of AI summaries depend on operating-system features provided by Apple and Google and may change. We provide information so you can check device support before purchase.

4. Purchase and license

  1. The App is a paid app. One purchase unlocks every feature, with no subscriptions, ads or in-app purchases.
  2. Purchases are made through the App Store or Google Play, and that store's terms also apply.
  3. You can re-download the App on any device signed in to the same store account. Purchases do not transfer between the App Store and Google Play.
  4. We grant you a non-transferable, non-exclusive license to use the App for personal, non-commercial purposes.

5. Cancellation and refunds

  1. Payments are processed by the App Store and Google Play, so refunds follow each store's procedures and policies (Apple: reportaproblem.apple.com / Google Play: within 48 hours of purchase you can request a refund from your Google Play order history; after that, contact Support).
  2. You may cancel a purchase as permitted by applicable consumer-protection laws. Once delivery of digital content has begun, cancellation may be limited by those laws (in Korea, Article 17(2) of the Act on Consumer Protection in Electronic Commerce).
  3. If the App does not work as described, or cannot be used properly for reasons attributable to us, please contact Support and we will guide you through the store's refund process and help with any verification needed.
  4. If a minor purchases the App without a legal guardian's consent, the minor or guardian may cancel the purchase as provided by law.

6. AI summary results

  1. AI summaries are generated automatically by the device's AI model and may omit content or state it inaccurately.
  2. Always check the original document before making important decisions — legal, medical, financial, contractual or otherwise. We are not responsible for decisions based solely on summaries, except for damage caused by our intent or gross negligence.

7. Your obligations

  • You must have the right to use any document you open with the App and must not use the App in a way that infringes others' copyrights or other rights.
  • You must not reverse engineer, modify, copy or redistribute the App, or infringe our intellectual property.
  • You must not use the App for any purpose contrary to law or public order.

8. Intellectual property

All rights in the App's software, design, character (the pixel cat), logo and text belong to us. Open-source software included in the App (such as pdf.js) is subject to its own license. Rights in documents you open with the App remain with their original owners; we acquire no rights in your documents.

9. Changes and discontinuation

  1. We may update the App to improve features or adapt to operating-system changes.
  2. Changes in Apple's or Google's operating-system policies or on-device AI features may change the scope of some features, especially AI summaries. We will post such changes on the App's web page and store listing.

10. Limitation of liability

  1. The App stores documents and data only on your device and provides no backup. We are not responsible for loss of on-device data (recent list, kept file copies, summaries, saved passwords, etc.) caused by losing, replacing or resetting your device or deleting the App.
  2. We are not responsible for feature limitations caused by the file itself, such as damaged or non-standard PDFs, or image-only (scanned) PDFs that cannot be searched or summarized.
  3. We are not responsible for problems arising without our intent or negligence, such as natural disasters or operating-system or store outages, except for damage caused by our intent or gross negligence.

11. Governing law and disputes

These Terms are governed by the laws of the Republic of Korea. Disputes relating to the App will first be discussed through Support; if no agreement is reached, they will be resolved by the competent court under the Korean Civil Procedure Act. Where the consumer-protection laws of your country of residence provide stronger protection, those laws prevail.
