To help us check quickly, please include the following when you contact us. You don't need to send the document itself.
- Device model and OS version (e.g. iPhone 16 / iOS 26, Galaxy S25 / Android 16)
- App version (shown in the App Store or Google Play app details)
- What happened, with a screenshot if possible
- For a PDF that won't open: its file size, page count and where it came from
Frequently asked questions
AI summaries
Which devices support AI summaries?
Summaries run only on the AI built into your device, so the device has to support it.
iPhone / iPad: devices that support Apple Intelligence — iPhone 15 Pro / 15 Pro Max, iPhone 16 series and later, and iPads with an M1 chip or later. iOS / iPadOS 26 or later is required, and Apple Intelligence must be turned on in Settings → Apple Intelligence & Siri.
Android: devices with on-device AI (Gemini Nano) — Galaxy S25 and S26 series, Z Fold7 / Z Flip8 and later, Pixel 9 series and later, and some other recent models such as OnePlus 13 and Xiaomi 15. Google keeps expanding the list.
On other devices, everything except AI summaries works as usual.
My device is supported, but it says summaries aren't available.
On iPhone, check that Apple Intelligence is on and that your device and Siri language is supported. Right after turning it on, summaries may be unavailable while the model downloads. On Android, the AI model may need a one-time download — follow the prompt on the summary screen (Wi-Fi recommended). On-device AI does not work on Android devices with an unlocked bootloader.
Is my document sent to a server for summarizing?
No. Summaries are processed entirely on your device and work without an internet connection. The App has no path to send documents to a server at all. See the Privacy Policy for details.
The summary doesn't match the document.
Condensing a document into three points can drop details or phrase things differently. Always check the original for anything important. Switching the scope to "This page" summarizes just the page you're on in more detail.
Opening PDFs
How do I make PDFs open in PDFCAT when I tap them?
Android: on first launch, tap PDFCAT으로 열기 in the prompt, then choose PDFCAT in the "Open with" list and tap Always. If another app is already the default, first open that app's App info → Open by default → Clear defaults so the list appears.
iPhone / iPad: iOS doesn't let you change the default app for a file type. Open the PDF in Files or a messenger, then choose Share → PDFCAT.
A red "Failed" screen appears and the file won't open.
The file may be damaged or not actually a PDF. Check whether it opens in another app. If it opens elsewhere but not in PDFCAT, please contact us with the file details.
How do I open a password-protected PDF?
Opening a locked PDF shows a password screen. Turn on the option to save it securely on this device and it will open automatically next time; the password is kept only in the device's secure storage. Removing the document from the recent list also deletes the saved password.
Search, thumbnails and keeping files
Search finds nothing.
PDFs made by scanning paper contain text only as images, so there is no text to search. Also, to stay fast, files larger than 25 MB don't offer search or real page thumbnails (you can still jump by page number).
I deleted the original file, but it still opens from the recent list.
With KEEP on, the App keeps a copy of each PDF you open so it can reopen even if the original is moved or deleted. If you don't need this, turn off KEEP on the home screen. Long-pressing an item in the recent list removes it and its copy immediately.
Purchase and new devices
I'd like a refund.
Payments are processed by the stores, so refunds are requested there too. On iPhone, use reportaproblem.apple.com. On Android, within 48 hours of purchase you can request one from your Google Play order history; after 48 hours, contact us with your order number (starts with GPA.) — see the Terms of Service, section 5.
Do I have to buy it again on a new phone?
No. On a new device signed in to the same Apple ID or Google account, you can download it again for free from your store purchase history. The recent list, kept files and summaries are stored only on the old device and don't move over. Purchases do not transfer between iPhone and Android.
Are there ads or subscriptions?
No. One purchase unlocks everything — no ads, subscriptions or in-app purchases.
